Why am I still receiving data change notifications from a customer I have set to inactive?

It should be noted that setting a client to inactive will not stop data change notifications if the Notify option on the record is still set to yes.

To remedy this, when setting records to inactive, we would advise to also include setting the Notify option to NO as part of your internal process, if you wish to no longer receive notifications for the record once set to inactive.

Following our product update in June of 2024, the Notify option is now defaulted to YES when flagging a potential match - this may result in you now receiving a higher volume of data change notification emails. If this is also not the desired outcome, you can set the Notify flag to NO when actioning new potential matches.

For the records you have already set to inactive that you do not wish to be receiving data change emails for, the necessary step to take would be to identify the records in which you are receiving emails for, and edit the Notify option to NO.

The Notify option is not within the customer record itself, it lies within the matches of that record - i.e. the flagged or discounted matches.
If you take the below record as an example,

You can enter the potential and flagged matches section,

From here, if you scroll down, you will see your options for that match

It is here that you can set Notify to 'NO'
